The local heat of the Rotary Young Chef Competition was held at the Escoffier Restaurant, Bournemouth and Poole College, on Friday, January 11th, with 9 finalists from 6 schools in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area.

The judges were Master Chef Tony Grove from the College, Stephen Bailey from The Daily Echo and President Ian Burton from The Rotary Club of Bournemouth.

The winner was Kirsty Maybank - Twynham School - and the runner Up was Kayleigh Atwil - Lytchet Minster School.

The District Final is being held at Eastleigh on Saturday, 26th January 2008.
