Past Rotarians Club
of Bournemouth (No 1)


The Past Rotarians Club of Bournemouth (No 1) was formed 60 years ago by the Rotary Club of Bournemouth. It was the first such Club to be formed in Britain. More details about our formation can be seen on the links mentioned below, but three things should be made clear at the outset:
  1. We completely believe in and support the Rotary ethos.
  2. We do not poach from Rotary and recommend that if you are a former Rotarian who is capable of fully participating in Rotary you have the choice of about ten Clubs in the area that you can join, and we can put you in touch with them.
  3. We support Rotary events and they support ours on various occasions. The great strength of the Past Rotarians Club of Bournemouth is that it is a warm fellowship of like-minded people. Former Rotarians can enjoy with us the same good fellowship as before, but with moderate costs and an easy pace. We have monthly lunches with speakers, social events, outings etc – all in a format familiar to Rotarians. There is no attendance requirement.
Our headquarters are at the Belvedere Hotel, Bath Road, Bournemouth, and our membership takes in Poole, Christchurch and Barton-on-Sea – and areas in between. For details of our meetings, please click here.

The Club is a member of the Association of Past Rotarians, which holds a Conference each year that is a great social event in a quality hotel at a pleasant location, varying from year to year. We also share some meetings with other Past Rotarians Clubs in the Wessex region. Click here for details.

In this our Diamond Jubilee Year, we are having several events culminating with a Grand Charity dinner in June - click here for details. Throughout the year we are raising funds for the Youth Cancer Trust of Bournemouth that provides activity holidays for young people suffering from cancer and related diseases.
